The Goa Dialogue at International Purple Fest was one of the movement’s defining public moments. It brought together government, industry, global delegates, grassroots voices, persons with disabilities, civil society and institutional partners on one platform.
Shanti opened with the story of Naina first showing a world where disability led to isolation, and then rewinding the story to show what becomes possible when systems are designed inclusively. The message was clear: every service that enables Naina’s life education, assistive technology, mobility, sports, employment, entertainment is also an economic opportunity.
The dialogue also used real-life stories from persons with disabilities and families to show that families often have to “reinvent the wheel” because services, counselling, products and systems are missing. This helped position the Purple Economy not as a slogan, but as a practical way to create professions, enterprises, services and markets around unmet needs.
